ASI suspended, probe against PI Dongare

Inquiry against PI Rajkumar Dongre ordered for not taking the case seriously
Shruti's sister Shraddha told the media that ASI Khatavkar used abusive language with her and her deceased sister. She alleged that the police had acted softly with Swapnil after the first complaint was lodged Court permission. "If an accused has to be rearrested in any case, prior permission has to be sought from a court of law. Accordingly, court permission has been obtained. Swapnil, who had acquired bail on August 19, had been at large since then. Police teams were sent to Pune, Mumbai, Gangapur, Jalna and other places but finally he was caught in Newasa," said the investigating officer. Probe handed over to crime branch
Shruti consumed sleeping pills on August 17 and a case of eve-teasing was registered against Swapnil on the following day. Shruti died on August 20 and Swapnil later charged with abetting suicide. "After the case was handed over to the crime branch by the Cidco police inspector, crime branch inspector Avinash Aaghav is looking into it," said the CP. Inquiry against PI Rajkumar Dongre ordered for not taking the case seriously.
Cidco ASI Harish Khatavkar has been suspended for allegedly using rude language with Shruti Kulkarni, who committed suicide. Similarly, an inquiry against Cidco PI Rajkumar Dongre has been ordered for not taking the matter seriously, commissioner of police (CP) Amitesh Kumar told newspersons today.
More importantly, ASI Raju Vaishnava and head constable N D Hiwale were already suspended in this matter. Shruti Kulkarni, a resident of Cidco N-7, who took the extreme step on August 17 following the alleged torture by Swapnil Miniyar, breathed her last on August 20 while undergoing treatment.

Swapnil used to torture Shruti by calling her on phone and sending lewd messages.
A complaint was lodged against him on July 24, but the police officers took action only after 10 days by arresting him. He was released on bail on the following day. Had the police acted in time, the life of Shruti could have been saved, claimed her relatives. After his release, Swapnil again started torturing Shruti and threatening her on phone. Fed up with the constant torture by him, Shruti reportedly gulped down sleeping pills to kill herself on August 17 and died two days later while being treated. When the media highlighted the issue, senior officers reportedly took the police officers concerned to task. The CP said following the complaint received against ASI Khatavkar, deputy commissioner of police Vasant Pardeshi was directed to submit a report after registering the statement of Shruti's sister and relatives.

Swapnil Miniyar caught at Newasa

The crime branch police tonight arrested Swpanil Miniyar, who had abetted the suicide of Cidco, N-7 girl Shruti Kulkarni, near Newasa village in Ahmednagar district. He had been hiding there for the last three days. Deputy commissioner of police Sandeep Atole said on August 17 Shruti ended life by consuming sleeping pills as she was being harassed by Miniyar. The latter was sending lewd text messages to her and threatened her. On August 18, Swapnil was arrested for molesting her but got bail. He then went underground. Meanwhile, Shruti died on August 20 after which a case of abetting suicide was registered.
The commissioner of police had formed eight squads to nab the culprits and the probe was given to the crime branch. The police traced calls made by the accused to his friends and relatives. On Saturday morning, he called up his friend after which the police traced his mobile location. At 8 pm, he was caught at Newasa.

Finally, Raka's Club contractor booked

A case has been registered against contractor Sunil Raka of Jyotinagar-based Raka's Lifestyle Club for breaching the AMC contract by running illegally hukka parlour and making illegal construction with the Osmanpura police station under pressure from Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) office-bearers. It may be noted here that Raka's Lifestyle Club was raided by police few months back for running hukka parlour without permission and some youths were also arrested during the action.

A non-cognizable offence was registered in this case by Osmanpura police station.
The civic body had signed a contract with M/s Shalaka Engineers and Raka's Lifestyle on BOT basis in 2007. According to the agreement, the contractor was not allowed to carry out any construction without AMC permission. But contractor Raka made some illegal constructions and also started hukka parlour, restaurant, dance club, sangeet academy without permission from the AMC. He had also fixed CCTV cameras near the swimming pool. After noticing these irregularities, the AMC office-bearers and general body had issued orders to the AMC administration to file case against Raka. The AMC authorities were dilly-dallying in filing case against the contractor, but at last they had to bow under the pressure of office-bearers.

Civic chief took the advice in this regard from the legal expert, but despite receiving the report from expert the administration was backing contractor for the past 15 days. Taking note of this, office-bearers met police commissioner Amitesh Kumar and requested him to issue order for filing the case against contractor. AMC deputy commissioner Ayyub Khan approached the Osmanpura police station on Sunday and filed complaint against Raka's Lifestyle Club contractor Sunil Raka and later police filed case against Raka. PI Gautam Phasale is investigating the matter further.
