Register Ganesh Mandal or face action: Police - Source LT

The city police have appealed to the office bearers of Ganesh Mandals and the activists to register their mandals with their respective area police stations.
In case of failure to comply with police instruction, unregistered Ganesh Mandals may land in trouble.
The commissioner of police (CP), Sanjay Kumar, said that this year 1,400 public Ganesh Mandals are likely to install idols. All the Ganesh Mandals have been appealed to install the Ganesh idol in such a way that it doesn't obstruct the traffic. The height of the Ganesh idol should be in a given limit so that it mayn't touch the overhead electric wires during the last day procession.
District magistrate Vikram Kumar has given permission to play music till midnight on the last four days of 10-day Ganesh festival.
CP also told that immersion wells in the Cidco have been checked from the security point of view and have been found okay. Inspection of immersion wells in the city is in the process.
Stop power disconnection drive
Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha has urged district collector to stop the drive of power supply disconnection in the backdrop of drought situation immediately.
The representation stated that Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has undertaken the drive of power supply disconnection to recover the outstanding electricity bills from the farmers. However, the shadow of the drought still looms over the district, hence the farmers are not in position to pay the bills. In such a grim situation, the MSEDCL should stop its drive immediately, stated the representation.
