Programmes to mark 100 yrs of Indian Cinema - Source LT


To commemorate the 100 years of Indian cinema in 2013, district art and culture department has planned various cultural programmes to mark the rare occasion.
A committee has been set up for this purpose. The meeting of this committee was held under the leadership of deputy collector Ravindra Rajput. Committee members Anand Devre, principal Latif Qureshi, Jay Mandave, AMC deputy commissioner Ravindra Nikam, district public relation officer S K Bavaskar and assistant entertainment tax officer P J Sonawane were present. Ravindra Rajput declared that the committee will select short films and documentaries and the same will be shown to the public after September 21. District guardian minister Balasaheb Thorat will witness the first show, informed sources. Short films selected for the festival are : Bhintimage, Mukti, Katal, Vivar, Collage, while documentaries list includes Devrai, Savitri, V Babasaheb, Manyamaya, Mumbai Railway Feriwale. Discussions and debates on various topics of cinema will be also organised.
