The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Water Resource Department (WRD) are going to hold examinations to fill their vacant posts on same day (October 20).
Students had been waiting for the recruitment advertisements for many days and were a confused lot. Now, as the three examinations fall on the same day, students will have to select any one of them.
There are 482 vacant posts of assistant executive engineer and assistant engineer in the Pubic Works Department (PWD), Irrigation Department and Water Supply Department, for which the MPSC will conduct examination in Aurangabad, Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur, on October 20.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Water Resources Department are also holding their examinations on the same day to fill 418 vacant posts.
Thousands of unemployed candidates heaved a sigh of relief after the declaration of the examination programme, but as all the three examinations fall on same day, they are in a dilemma: which examination should they take?
Meanwhile, the district administration is also facing an uphill task to make seating arrangements for the examinees. "In view of three examinations falling on the same day, we are finding it difficult to arrange centres in the city," said Sudhir Jahagirdar, district planning administration, examination department.
