HSC pass norm hits 1500 aspirants - Source LT

The state government has made HSC pass qualification mandatory for the selection of special executive officers.
The district administration shortlisted 2153 candidates. Of them only 1505 were found eligible as rest of them did not fit the given criteria.
To lessen the workload on the Gazetted officers in terms of attestation of the documents, the administration has been recruiting special executive officers for the past 15 years. Generally, two special executive officers are recruited for 1000 people.
Earlier, for the post of special executive officers, educational qualification was not taken into consideration.
After some time, the criterion to select a special executive officer has been made at least HSC pass. From June 6, the state government has made at least HSC pass educational qualification mandatory for the same post.
Because of the new government ordinance, around 1500 candidates could not be selected because they were not HSC pass, while some of them were disqualified owing to offences registered against them.
After making alterations, only 653 candidates have been left out of 2153 candidates.
