Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) — the largest IT services firm in Asia — recently recruited 141 students from Government College of Engineering (GCE) through campus interviews.
The TCS, which has 199 branches in 45 countries, signed a memorandum of understanding with the GCE. A 31-member TCS team led by Nitin Abhange, Shekhar Kamble, Suyog Bhandekar and Ketki Pedgaonkar, conducted the campus interviews for BE and ME students from September 25 to 27. Training and Placement Department head Dr Nitin Bhasme said out of 284 students appeared, 141 were selected for jobs. The break-up of the selected students is: 36 (computer branch), 35 (electronics), 32 (IT), 15 (electrical), 8 (mechanical), 1 (civil branch), 6 each (MCA and ME computer science) and three (ME electronics). Each selected candidate from BE will get an annual package of Rs 3.20 lakh, while Rs 3.40 lakh package is fixed for ME candidates.
