A group of 60 youths from senior school level to collegians formed Rokda Hanuman Pawli Pathak and Young Giants Group of Chikalthana seven years ago and since then they are working in different fields and moving ahead by increasing their social activities.
Group leaders Jairaj, Yogesh and Vaibhav while speaking to this scribe said, "Cleanliness drive during Navaratri Festival at Karnapura temple every year is one of our biggest initiatives. All 60 members go to Karnapura all nine days by 7 pm and remain busy in cleaning work till 11.30 pm. We also organize blood donation camps on July 30 and Hanuman Jayanti every year, and conduct 'limited tree plantation' programme during rainy season. We personally take care to save the planted trees through which we spread the message of tree conservation awareness among the society."
"We often visit Matoshree old-age home, where we distribute food, fruits and clothes to the needy and also try to entertain the elders by presenting a cultural programme of Pawali Pathak and show our gymnastics skills. Our group is also providing food packets to the patients on the first Sunday of every month. Not a single member of the group celebrates his birthday with fanfare or at home, but we celebrate it at orphanages like Bhagwan Baba Anathalaya and Shobhna Anathalaya. Every year, we conduct Raksha Bandhan function at these orphanages," the group leaders narrated.
When asked about funds required for all these activities, one of them instantly replied, "I was expecting this question and we are getting some fund for this cause from temple trust, while the remaining we contribute from our pocket money. No doubt parents are also cooperating and encouraging the group." The group comprises Yogesh Vidhate, Vaibhav Kunwar, Jiwan Vaishnav, Yash Wagh, Jairaj Shewtekar, Mayur Sawai, Akshay Shewtekar, Ankur Talekar, Rishiraj Shewtekar, Aboli Joshi, Sayli Joshi, Renuka Sawai, Renuka Vaidya, Nikhil Shirshikar, Rakesh Joshi and others.
