Students for eco-friendly Ganesh - Source LT

Engineering college students vowed to install eco-friendly Ganesh idols during a workshop organised to teach making of Ganesh idols, in the city, recently. The workshop, which was organised by the students, received good response.
Students collected money to purchase the raw material. Expert in the field Manisha Chaudhari guided the students in making Ganesh idols from eco-friendly clay. Students prepared Ganesh idols of various sizes and types in the workshop. They also pledged to install an eco-friendly idol in their respective hostels, this year.
The eco-friendly clay dissolves easily in water. Similarly, eco-friendly colours are helpful in environment conservation. The water in which the idol is dissolved can be watered to plants. These idols also look good even if they are not coloured. Idols from Plaster of Paris often contain chemicals which are hazardous for the environment. The material does not dissolve in water. College principal PS Advani, professors AS Bhalchandra, Prachi Bhagat, Nilima Kolhare were also present.
