The 342nd Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana Mahotsav will be celebrated at Sri Raghavendra Swamy temple in Aurangabad from August 21 to 23.
The Mahotsav is celebrated throughout the country every year in the month of August when the devotees visit Swami's mutts (or temples) to seek his blessings.
The Poorva Aradhana falls on Wednesday followed by Madhya Aradhana (Thursday) and Uttara (Friday).
On all the three days, 'pujas' will be performed from 8 am onwards. The 'mahaprasad' will be served from 12.30 pm onwards, said the Mutt president Vishnu Giridhar. It is difficult to describe in words the greatness of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, a saint and a great philosopher who dedicated his life and works to the restoration of unflinching faith in God. Sri Raghavendra Swamy's life is not a history of dry events, but it is a poetry and suffering, love and compassion, saturated with devotion, surcharged with spiritual energy and inspired by sublime ideals. He is a brilliant star of the evening. He was born in this world because there was a need for him, there was a call for him.
Sri Raghavendra Swamy is the third incarnation of Pralhad. He bodily entered the Brindavan, which is now the holy custodian of his physical body. His life and mission extends over many centuries as he has been credited with 700 years of presence in the Brindavan, which is situated at Mantralaya in Andhra Pradesh on the banks of river Tungabhadra.
Meanwhile, Mutt president Giridhar has appealed to the devotees to seek Swamy's blessings on all the three days. He also said a music programme by Sarkate brothers, sponsored by the SBH, would be held on Aug. 22.
