Silent march organised in city - Source LT


A silent march was organised in the city today to protest against the Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti leader Dr Narendra Dabholkar's murder in Pune. 
The march began from Paithan Gate in the evening and culminated at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi after passing from Tilak Path, Gulmandi, Machhali Khadak, City Chowk and Sarafa. 
The participants were carrying pictures of the slain thinker. Retired high court judge Justice B N Deshmukh and Avinash Deshmukh spoke on the occasion. Subhash Lomote conducted the proceedings. Manohar Taksal, principal Rajaram Rathod, Ratilal and Chandaben Jairwala, Tara Ladda, H M Desarda, Uddhav Bhavalkar, Buddhinath Baral, Ram Baheti, principal Pratap Borade, Ajit Dalvi, Pradeep Purandare, Ashok Bhalerao, principal Manorama Sharma, Suniti Dharwadkar were among those present. 
A condolence meeting will be held at Saraswati Bhuvan auditorium on August 21 at 5 pm to pay homage to Dr Dabholkar.
