Secretarial Assistant exam on September 29 - Source LT


The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has issued an advertisement for recruitment of 89 Secretarial Assistants. The preliminary examination will be held at 35 district centers on September 29 and the last date for applying is September 3. Several vacant posts of the State Government including assistants and group B (non-gazette) category will be filled through this examination. They will get a chance of promotion to the post of Group B section officer. The examination will be held in three phases - preliminary, main and interview. Any graduate candidate between the age group of 18 to 33 years can apply and backward class candidates can get five years relaxation in their age group. Candidates clearing the final examination will be appointed in various departments of the secretariat and the MPSC office. 
Prelim of 100 marks
Preliminary examination is of 100 marks. One hour time will be given to solve the question paper with multiple answers. Questions will be based on current affairs, history of modern India, special Maharashtra, state's geography, economy, general knowledge, IQ and mathematics. 
Two papers in main exam 
Candidates, who clear the preliminary examination, will have to appear for two papers of 200 marks each in the main examination. The first paper is of Marathi and English containing 130 question of Marathi and 70 questions of English. The second paper will be based on general knowledge and other subjects. The main examination will be held at Aurangabad, Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur. Candidates who clear the main examination will qualify for the interview which will be of 50 marks.
