A job fair and recruitment camp for Class XII students of minimum competency vocational courses (MCVC) will be jointly organised by the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), Mumbai, Chamber of Marathwada Industries Association (CMIA), Aurangabad, Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (Massia) and other industrial entities at Saraswati Bhuwan Science College on August 30.
"The recruitment drive is aimed to assist around 500 students from the region, through 80 companies that will participate in the event," said S K Kanade, professor at the district training institute. Direct interviews will be conducted, after which students will be recruited on the spot.
There are over 100 courses that are conducted under MCVC. Some 700 posts are vacant on the trade apprenticeship act, Kanade said. Students of about 50 granted and non-granted junior colleges will benefit from the drive.
Each company has a seat for apprenticeship allocated in companies in a 10:1 ratio. This is the 10th year of the recruitment drive.
In 2012, around 356 students took part in the fair and 283 students were recruited. Forty-eight industries had participated in the 2012 fair.
