Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) is preparing for the forthcoming visit of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on August 26, 27 and 28. Colouring and various repair works at administrative building and different departments is going on at war footing.
University is facing reassessment after a gap of nine years. This time, more stress has been given on the educational standard than facilities provided. Various cleanliness works have been undertaken as cleanliness also matters. Facilities added in the last nine years are expected to prove helpful.
Modernisation of establishment department, beautification near pre-IAS training centre, laying paver blocks in university garden, each and every department's colouring with their names and minority girls hostel are among some works undertaken. A well-furnished reading room is ready for students in the library.
Repairing and renovation works are not due to NAAC visit but are routine works, said Bamu executive engineer R D Kale.
