A programme 'Ethical Values in legal Education' was held at M P Law College recently to celebrate its 58th foundation day.
Justice Ambadas Joshi of Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court was chief guest while Adv Umakant Patil (secretary of M L and G E Society) presided. Principal of the college Dr C M Rao delivered introductory speech.
Speaking at the programme Justice A H Joshi said that it is difficult to identify the origin of the ethics, however, ethics is a basic moral practice of any profession or every walk of life.
"To follow duties is also ethics. Lawyer who fails in discharge of an obligation fails in ethics and lawyer adaptable to every situation arriving to him is part of ethics," he said.
Justice Joshi said that to earn something is necessary for subsistence but for earning one can't depart from ethics.
Presidential address was given by Adv Umakant Patil. Adv J K Wasadikar, Adv Dr Kalplata Patil Bharaswadkar, Adv Rajendra Deshmukh, Adv Shrikant Advant and others were present.
Prof Pratibha Girbane conducted the proceedings. Dr Aparna Kottapalle introduced the chief guest and Prof Shital Barhate expressed the vote of thanks.
College staff and students attended the function.
