■ Students need not have to worry about the curriculum, which will be based on 11th and 12th standards.
■ There will be 180 questions of 720 marks (each carrying four marks), while the duration of the test will be three hours.
The State Government on Wednesday decided to hold MH-CET for medical admissions on the lines of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) from 2014 onwards.
Ever since the Supreme Court scrapped the idea of one nation and one test for medical admissions, there was a confusion among students about the forthcoming entrance test. Therefore, a meeting was convened in Mumbai on Wednesday, which decided to go for a state-level entrance test for medical admissions.
Chaired by medical education minister Dr Vijaykumar Gavit, the meeting also decided the curricula and pattern of the State-level medical entrance. Students need not have to worry about the curriculum, which will be based on 11th and 12th standards. There will be 180 questions of 720 marks (each carrying four marks), while the duration of the test will be three hours.
MLC Satish Chavan also took up the matter with the government. MLC Satish Chavan, former principal of Rajarashi Shahu College Dr Aniruddha Jadhav, principal Dr Dasrao Suryavanshi, principal Dr N V Kalyankar and D B Jhambrunkar were also present in the meeting.
