Expo on teaching methods a huge hit - Source LT

Jayprakash Narayan B Ed College, which is run by Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, recently organised an exhibition with nearly 1,000 projects on the importance of teaching methods on display.
Complaints of improper teaching methods in schools and colleges have become the order of the day. The main reason behind this is incompetent lecturers and teachers.
One tends to teach students in an oral format, but the best way to teach is to teach in the combination of a pictorial and oral format.
The exhibition was aimed at highlighting the importance of teaching methods in the form of pictorial representation. "It is high time that we raised the teaching standards as everything in future will depend on education," said principal Dr Satish Satav, the brains behind the exhibition.
Dr Satav said, "To overcome the teaching errors, it is necessary for a teacher to educate himself/herself first. There is a need for conducting such exhibitions at all levels. This will help in arresting the declining teaching standards."
Some of the topics of the projects on display were: Symbols, reflection of light, glory of saints, works of social reformers, diseases and their symptoms, types of soils, types of diseases and human body.
Messages on the use of eco-friendly Ganesha idols, stopping of consumption of gutkha and other tobacco products were also part of the grand exhibition.
