Deposit plastic flags with us: Institution - Source LT

Step to ensure that no disrespect is caused to flags
Solid Waste Management Institute of Maharashtra has urged the people to deposit plastic national flags with the Institute after celebrations of August 15.
On the independence Day, people buy national flags enthusiastically. However, as soon as the celebrations are over, these flags are found in garbage, it was revealed during a survey by the Solid Waste Management Institute of Maharashtra.
To avoid disrespect to the flag, the people have been urged to deposit the flags on August 16 and 17 at Gandhi Bhavan, Samarathnagar from 9 am to 5 pm. Educational institutes, schools, colleges, youth organisations, social institutions and women's organisations should participate in the drive, said Institute advisor Dr Vinayak Bhagwat, Shyamala Bhogale, Vikas Dube, Upendra Kulkarni, Sanjay Kamble, Dr Bhalchandra Kango, Mansingh Pwar and others.
