Candidates asked not to file RTI queries for marks detail
UPSC to conduct main exam on Dec 1
Total 3 lakh students appeared for exam across the country
About 16,000 candidates have qualified this year's Civil Services (Preliminary) examination, results of which were declared by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Now these candidates are eligible for the Main exam.
The preliminary exam was held on May 26 and its results were scheduled to be announced on July 27. However, the candidates were worried as the results of the exam were not declared even after 8 days. 
With the results out, candidates are relieved.
The UPSC has advised the qualifiers not to file any RTI applications seeking details of their marks and answer keys until the entire process of Civil Services exams comprising the mains test and interview get over.
The UPSC conducts Civil Services exams to select Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers. The exam is held in three phases-Preliminary exam, Main exam and Interview. A total of 3 lakh students had appeared for the exam throughout the country.
Main exam on Dec 1
The Main exam would take place on December 1 which would run through a week. The students will have to take six papers including 1 optional and 5 general eligibility test. It also includes one paper of essay writing. The students would get 150 days time for preparations of main exam.
Online application
The detailed instruction to fill in the detail application form DAF and procedure for sending it to the commission is available on the UPSC portal. It can also be delivered at UPSC counter by hand till September 18, 2013 (5 pm).
After submitting the duly filled DAF online, the candidates are required to take out its print out and send its printed copy duly signed by him or her along with all relevant documents.
