The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has extended the last date of submission of proposals for additional 25 marks, by eight days. The MSBSHSE decided to give one more chance to apply for the additional 25 marks to those sportsmen (HSC and SSC students) who have failed in the exam and did not get sports marks as they had not applied by March 31. Different student unions had demanded that such students should get one more opportunity of seeking additional 25 marks. The MSBSHSE issued a notification recently inviting proposals from sportsmen. Earlier, the last date of submission of proposal with the recommendation of Department of Sports and Youth Affairs was July 31 but has now been extended to August 8.
Bhand elected prez of Atre Literary meet
Senior litterateur Baba Bhand has been elected chairman of the Acharya Atre Literary Conference. According to Atre Vikas Pratishthan president Vijay Kolte and Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad, Pune president Raosaheb Pawar, the one-day conference will be held on August 13 at Saswad.
Bhand has been in the field of writing and publishing for the past 15 years. He has nine novels, four travelogues, two story collections and much more to his name.
He has also been presented with various awards by the government of Maharashtra and Sahitya Academy. His Saket Publication has published more than 1500 books. He was also the chairman for the All India Marathi Literary Conference, Children's Literary Conference and Marathwada Literary Conference.
