The school authorities are contemplating a silent morcha of students and parents to the corporation office to protest against the apathetic attitude of the AMC.
The sewage drain just outside the main entrance of St Lawrence School is choked and school students wade through the filthy water into the school in the morning and on their out in the evening.
The water overflows every day. The school authorities get the drain cleaned ever so often but it overflows the next day. Often children get their shoes and socks wet and end up sitting with drenched shoes through the school hours, not to mention the number of times little children slip and fall into the filthy puddle.
The corporation authorities have turned a deaf ear to the problem, in spite of numerous letters being submitted from time to time. According to the school authorities, a ward officer threatened the school management that the school would be sealed if taxes were not paid within 24 hours. When questioned about the basic amenities, he replied that it was not his department.
