The Government Dental College, Aurangabad has figured on top 15 dental colleges list in the country according to a survey conducted by a magazine recently.
City dental college was ranked 14th on the list of 15 colleges. Dean Dr Suresh Barpande said that the GDCA has been proving its excellence on the national level for the last many years.
This institution was adjudged 14th, 10th and 12 th in 2010, 2011, and 2012 respectively. College received ranking points after considering various aspects like basic amenities, advanced machinery, immediate services received by the patients, superiority in educational standard and success bagged by students in the All India level examinations.
Dr Barpande said, "Dental college ranking has gone down for the third consecutive year, but educational standard of the college has never come down.
Other colleges had removed errors in their system due to which their rankings have moved up. Several posts of professors are still lying vacant and various PG courses have not yet started.
Despite these difficulties, the college name has figured on the country's top 15 list and we are proud of the achievement."
