Traffic police to keep watch on school buses - Source LT

The flying squad of RTO will keep a watch on school buses to be operational as the schools will be reopened soon. City Road Transport Officer D T Pawar said "all the school buses have to follow the safety guidelines for protection of students; if the guidelines are breached by the schools, they will be held accountable."
The guidelines for the school buses to be run are : Windows of the buses must be grilled, bus must have a rack to place school bags and the water bottles. Each bus must have a first aid kit, person driving must be an experienced driver, an attendant must be there on bus to pick up and drop students. A door at the front, back and an emergency exit door must be there. There has to be speed monitor, fire extinguisher and the condition of buses must be good. Pawar said "if the schools do not follow the safety guidelines, the buses will be confiscated and taken into the custody of RTO office."
