Shingare gets Emeritus Scientist fellowship - Source LT

■ First professor from Bamu to achieve CSIR honour

Prof Dr M S Shingare, a former director of the Board of College and University Development (BCUD) of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu), has been awarded fellowship of 'Emeritus Scientist' by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
The CSIR awards the fellowship to select professors for their outstanding contribution in research. Dr M S Shingare will get a research grant of Rs 10 lakh, Rs 20,000 monthly honorarium and a research assistant. 
Only 18 professors, including Dr Shingare, have been selected for the fellowship from across the country. Dr Shingare is the first professor to get it in the history of the university. Dr Shingare joined the Chemistry Department, Bamu, as a lecturer in 1973 and worked as senior professor till May 2013. As many as 42 students completed Ph D under his guidance.
