Taking into account these problems, Ministry of Higher Education of Iraq decided to allow their students to take admissions in only 20 universities and institutes of the country, excluding BAMU, for completion of the course on time.
The students can take admission to only two universities and one institute in the State - University of Mumbai, University of Pune and IIT-Mumbai. If the administration of BAMU does not improve the facilities for foreign students, students may turn to other universities in coming years, it is being feared.
When contacted, director, foreign students cell Dr Sadhana Pande said, "We try our best to help foreign students in our university, we cannot do anything which is not in our hands."
She further said that foreign students (Islamic countries) accompanied by family members, come here for education on scholarship that is given for a fixed period.
