Despite moderate rainfall in the city recently, municipal commissioner Harshdeep Kamble on Friday clarified that the water supply schedule will remain unchanged.
Hence, the citizens will continue to receive water supply after a gap of two days even in the monsoon period.
The AMC started supplying water after every two days since October 2012. However, the civic body is in no mood to change the present schedule as according to them it helps them in equal distribution of water.
Although the city is receiving the rain, but the storage is not adequate to revise the water supply schedule. Moreover, the citizens have also been used to save water.
Kamble also pointed out that the desilting of 64-km long nullahs in city will be done in three phases.
"The AMC needs Rs 15 crore to complete the whole task. Due to lack of funds, we have launched works of valuing Rs 2.08 crore in the first phase. Moreover, the contractors have been also asked to clear choked nullahs, remove silt so that the flow of rainwater could be maintained during heavy rainfall."
