Fusion of Warli paintings, Abhangas - Source LT

Abhangas of saint Tukaram and Warli paintings have been brought together by litterateur Vijay Gawli. The aim behind this mixture is to avoid the extinction of these forms of arts in this modern era.
Born at Ghodegaon in Ambad tehsil, Vijay Prabhakar Gawli completed his Masters from Raja Raviverma Arts College. He has his expertise in literature, oil painting, discourse etc. He was also the chairman of Jagadguru Tukobarai Literary Council during 2009-13 and presently is an arts teacher at New High School Chikalthana.
He said, "India is a land of greats like Subhashchandra Bose, Saint Tukaram, Bhagat Singh and many more. Youth in our country have one of these greats as their ideals and hence their work is still alive. Saints like Tukaram, Dnyaneshwar, Mirabai, Sawata Mali etc have preached humanity and the true meaning of it through their Abhangas, youth will only learn this when they will read the abhangas."
