n Beauty of Salim Ali Lake will now be multiplied
n AMC planning development of other gardens too

Municipal commissioner H S Kamble seems to have launched Mission Garden focusing his attention on developing city's important gardens with government aid and private participation, on a priority.
The prime focus of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is on developing Japanese Garden on around 8 acres of land situated on the Salim Ali Lake campus. The civic body had submitted a Rs 1.25 crore proposal on the suggestion of the guardian minister a few months ago.
"We have received a letter from the state government sanctioning Rs 60 lakh for the Japanese Garden on Salim Ali Lake campus. We aim at developing the place as an eco-friendly destination to attract foreign and domestic tourists. Natural habitat will also be developed for the migratory and domestic birds surrounding the lake. To protect the water reservoir, we will also be developing shrubs and medicinal herbs on the edge," said Kamble. The AMC has successfully tested and operated Sewage Treatment Plant near the Salim Ali Lake. Two MLD water is being treated through it. Kamble also hinted at starting boat facilities in the lake.
