Basic science regaining demand - Source LT

As many courses are derived from the basic science, subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics will always be in a great demand. —Dr S V Birajdar| Principal, S B College 

The number of students taking admission in courses like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics has increased considerably in the past three years. 
In spite of completing technical and professional courses like BCS, BCA, BBA, B. Ed etc, there are no jobs for students which is compelling them to take admission in basic science courses.
According to Ashok Mohekar, the dean of science department of Osmanabad sub-centre of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, thousands of students are now preferring basic science courses for better job prospects.
There are 153 science colleges in district having 2-3 batches with an intake capacity of 130 students each. "Now, in the wake of rising demand for science courses, the university will have to increase the batches to accommodate students, he added.
