Bamu hikes fee for 11 external courses - Source LT

The Examinations Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has declared the result of M Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics and Botany subjects. The students of these postgraduate courses had taken their examinations in April. The Examinations Department has appealed to the students to take note of it.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has hiked the fees for 11 different external courses which means students from poor family background will bear the brunt. After raising the fees for MA course, students now have to shell out Rs 17,000 for two years, earlier the fee for this course was Rs 1400. The fee for the information brochure of this course has been raised to Rs 500 from Rs 50.
External education is one of the most preferred type of education by students as they complete their degree just by attending the exams. This helps them to give their families support by doing jobs and studies in free time.
The fee for BA Music was Rs 1000 for the first year and Rs 1500 for the next two years, now it is Rs 5000, 6500 and 8500 for I, II and III year respectively. Likewise the fee for MA/MSc Mathematics was Rs 750 per year which has been increased to Rs 7000 for first year and Rs 10,000 for the second. So, now external education looks like the course only for the rich people.
