Under the National Bamboo Campaign, the social forestry department planted 10 bamboos in 60 hectares of State Reserve Police Force land in Satara area here on Sunday.
Deputy director of department A R Moon and commandant Deepak Sakore planted the bamboos.
The jawans of Bharat Reserve Battalion in Satara have dug a well to provide water to the plants and have also adopted several measures to preserve the environment. An Eco-task force of 20 jawans has been established under the leadership of assistant commandant V T Shinde and PSI N V Misal and B D Singh for the preservation of the plants.
Social forestry department officers P C Waghchaure, A A Rathod, G R Shaikh, A T Patil and others were present, informed PRO and PSI Dilip Jadhav.
