The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will be sealing as many as 23 dilapidated buildings posing danger, from tomorrow onwards.
Tight police security will be maintained during the drive (starting from 11 am) to maintain law and order situation.
As reported earlier, during a survey it was found that there are 58 dilapidated buildings in the city and the AMC had served notices on the tenants and owners of 23 such buildings directing them to move to safer places immediately.
The survey was carried out and notices were issued following the directives of the State Government after a multi-storeyed building collapsed in Thane, a couple of months ago.
"A majority of old and dilapidated structures are in the jurisdiction of the Ward-D office. Meanwhile, the respective police stations have been alerted about the drive to seal the dilapidated structures. If any tenant or owner tries to create nuisance or obstruct the drive, we will hand them over to the police," said chief fire brigade officer Shivaji Jhanjhan.
