As the monsoon sets in, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) woke up from deep slumber and claimed of bringing about reforms to implement effective garbage management in the city.
Civic chief H S Kamble said, "The process to obtain no-objection certificates (NoCs) from different departments is underway. After completing the formalities, the garbage depot will be shifted from Naregaon to an undisclosed village, close to the city."
With a view to transform the city into zero garbage-destination, the solid waste management (SWM) cell has chalked out a plan to lift garbage in four shifts. Moreover, adequate manpower will be deployed in the limits of all the ward offices.
Kamble said that the administration has also proposed for the purchase of tractors, giant size bins and other necessary equipment of valuing Rs 1.5 cr-Rs 2 cr under 13th finance commission.
