Renowned cine star Sachin Pilgaonkar and his daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar interacted with the Sakhi Manch members during their visit to Lokmat Bhavan here on Friday.
The father-daughter duo was in the city on Friday for the promotion of their upcoming film 'Ekkulti Ek'.
Sachin and Shriya shared their experiences of screen and off screen through the interactive session with the Sakhi Manch members.
Sachin said that the film 'Ekkulti Ek' was planned considering the role of Shriya. She is an excellent director and a Kathak dance exponent. "Shriya has produced this film not to hog the limelight but to gain experience as an artist," Sachin said.
"On the sets we are true professionals and at home ours have somewhat different relations. I was never under pressure of the stardom of my father while working with him. I hope that the audience will know me as Shriya after the release of the film and not as the daughter of Sachin and Supriya," Shriya said.
Sachin said, "The film focuses on the story of father and daughter who are poles apart in their thoughts and approach."
On May 23 Sachin will complete 50 years so he has organised the premier of the film in five cities including Aurangabad in the state.
He also mentioned that the Darda and Pilgaonkar families have very old relations.
Initially, the founder president of Sakhi Manch Aashoo Darda and present president Rekha Rathi, secretary Anita Kotgiri welcomed Sachin and Shriya. Neeta Pansare conducted the proceedings of the function.
