Information Technology department of the Jawaharlal Nehru engineering College (JNEC) hosted the Proyecto- 13 project exhibition and contest today. More than 250 students of IT and computer science branches from about 20 engineering colleges affiliated to the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University participated in the contest and presented 82 projects.
Websites, software and other projects developed by students won accolades. Dr Pravin Ennamwar, Dr R B Naik (MIT), Dr S P Abhang (Shreeyash), Sanjay Kalyankar (Deogiri), Aniket Ramgiri (computer expert) and S K Kulkarni (Savitribai Phule) judged the projects on the basis of the importance of the topic, utility and other measures.
The event was inaugurated by industrialist Anup Kabra. MGM's trustee Prataprao Borade, Principal Sudhir Deshmukh, Proyecto-13's coordinator Vijaya Ahire, Sharvari Tamne and others were present.
JNEC - Campus Web Package
The JNEC students presented a web package named Campus. Its speciality was that two web pages could be opened at a time on the screen and one can work on them simultaneously. The web package was developed by Kunal Dahale, Mahalingam Iyer, Piyush Hurpade and Sheetal Jadhav. The name Campus was given with the first alphabets of these four students. This package was uploaded on the internet by them as an option to Mozilla Firefox and Google Crome on November 30, 2011. It has received more than 1500 downloads since then, it was informed.
Deogiri Engineering College: Prahari Application
Students of Deogiri Engineering College had developed Prahari application to empower women and young girls post Delhi gang-rape incident. This application can be installed on a mobile phone. In case of an emergency, a message is sent to emergency number in the phone book and mobile phone gets automatically silent. Once the application is initiated, updated messages are sent about user's location. The application was developed by Aniket Bhansale, Gaurav Bugde, Rajesh Dhalange and Aniket Somvanshi.
PES Engineering College: Online Mobile Shopping Software
This application was developed by Mayur Mhaske, Shriram Jadhav, Ganesh Shinde and Ganesh Dheple. It helps purchasing a mobile phone of any company online.
Shreeyash Engineering College: Multiple Choice Test Software
Ganesh Kale, Bhavna Khandekar and Yogita Aher prepared this software that can be used online as well as offline and does not require a supervisor, said students.
