Sangramnagar flyover may be completed soon - Source LT

The construction of the flyover on the railway track at Sangramnagar is almost complete. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is taking efforts to complete the work at the earliest. Around 50,000 residents of Satara and Deolai area will be benefitted with this flyover.

The residents had to face severe inconvenience due to the railway crossing at Sangramnagar in the Shanoormia Dargah area. They had been demanding for a flyover on this railway crossing for the past several years. MSRDC had decided to construct a flyover at an estimated cost of Rs 27.67 crores. A private firm from Pune was awarded the contract of the construction of this 640 meter long flyover. The work started in February last. MSRDC took special efforts to construct the fly over in time and hence the pillars erection and slabs were laid within the stipulated time. Now, the flyover is expected to be completed soon.
The South Central Railway (SCR) will have to conduct the 27.5 meters work of the bridge over the railway tracks. However, the administration had delayed the procedure. It was proposed to inaugurate the flyover in May, but the schedule has been delayed now. The SCR has appointed a contractor to finish the work and it is expected that the flyover will soon be ready for the use of residents.
