Huge response to blood donation - Source LT


The blood call given by All India Shwetambar Sthanakwasi Jain Conference 'Farz ke rishtonko khoon ka rishta banaye, aao raktadan kare jaruratmand ki jaan bachaye,' received an overwhelming response from people in the district on Sunday.
Blood donors from Jain and other communities donated 848 bottles of blood at 13 places during the mega blood donation camp (Maharaktadan camp). Jain Conference had resolved to collect 1 lakh bottles of blood to mark Diksha Shatabdi of Rashtrasant Anandrishiji Maharaj Saheb and Gajkeshri Ganeshlalji Maharaj Saheb.
School education minister Rajendra Darda inaugurated the blood donation camp at Ahinsa Bhavan of Cidco N-3. All India Shwetambar Jain Conference, Akhil Bharatvarshiya Shramansanghiya Shravak Samiti and Sakal Jain Samaj jointly organised the camp. However, people from Jain and other communities participated in the camp enthusiastically. The blood donation continued from 8 am to 4 pm. Rashitriya mantri of Jain Conference Tansukh Zambad said, "As many as 13 camps including 9 in city and 4 in tehsil were organised. Overall 30 camps were held in Marathwada. In India, 2500-3000 camps were held. People response in the city was beyond expectation." The camp at Mahavir Bhavan of Kumbharwada was inaugurated by Zumbarlal Pagariya where a total of 51 bottles of blood were collected. Begumpura police station inspector Sunil Telur inaugurated the camp at Sanjivani Hospital, Begumpura where 31 bottles of blood were collected.
