'Ambedkar's thoughts gave new direction to country' - Source LT


Platinum jubilee edition of 'Annihilation of Caste' released
"Social, economic and political thoughts of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, which are relevant even in today's politics, gave a new direction to the country,'' said Higher and Technical Education minister Rajesh Tope today. 
He was speaking at the release ceremony of the platinum jubilee edition of the book 'Annihilation of Caste' penned by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Published by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Source Material Publication Committee and Higher and Technical Education Department. Vice chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) Dr Vijay Pandharipande presided. 
Secretary of the Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Madhukarrao Muley, higher and technical education director Dr Prakash Gaikwad, registrar Dr D M Mane, joint director Dr Mohammad Fayyaz, and chairman of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Source Material Publication Committee Dr Avinash Dolas were seated on the dais. 
Tope further said the book 'Annihilation of Caste' provides ways to eliminate the caste system from the society. Being an economist, legalist and social worker, Dr Ambedkar has provided a new direction to the policies of the country. Reserve Bank of India was established on the basis of his thoughts expressed in the book The Problem of Rupee. Through the Hindu code bill, the idea of women reservations came to the fore for the first time. Dr Ambedkar advocated that women should get share in the ancestral property, based on which the policies of the country have been designed.
Dr Pandharipande assured to provide all possible assistance to the Committee. He also thanked Tope for announcing the financial aid of Rs 50 lakh to BAMU for starting Bachelor of Vocational Studies course next year. 
In his introductory speech, Dr Dolas informed the audience about the published and unpublished material written by Dr Ambedkar. Higher and Technical Education minister Rajesh Tope releases the platinum jubilee edition of the book 'Annihilation of Caste', in Aurangabad on Sunday. Also seen are BAMU vice chancellor Dr Vijay Pandharipande, registrar Dr Dhanraj Mane, Madhukarrao Muley and Dr Avinash Dolas.
