Stop taking fee from drought-hit students: SFI - Source LT

The Students Federation of India (SFI) has demanded that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) should stop collecting examination fee from drought-hit students.
In a memorandum to the vice chancellor, SFI state unit president Bhausaheb Jhirpe stated that the government had already issued orders on January 9 and 24 waiving the fee of those students who hail from drought-affected villages.
"Despite the government orders, the university has been collecting both regular exam fee and late fee from such students. If the university is facing any problem in this respect, it should get in touch with the department concerned," he added and demanded that the university should implement the government directives and inform all the colleges accordingly.
SFI district president Sunil Rathod, Ramesh Joshi, Kundlik Khetri and others have signed the memorandum. The SFI also condemned the decision to allow NCP to hold a meeting in the Mahatma Phule Hall.
