Spl prayers mark Good Friday - Source LT


Christians organised special prayers at churches on the occasion of Good Friday.
Good Friday is observed during the Holy Week on the Friday preceding the Easter Sunday. It is a day of mourning. 
According to the Canonical gospel, Jesus Christ was crucified on Good Friday after much sufferings which eventually lead to his death. They lament the death of Jesus Christ which they believe was of great essence as it brought salvation for the human race.
Catholic churches performed the traditional rituals, while the religious leaders addressed devotees giving the Message of Crucifixion. Moreover, religious gatherings for children were also organised at some churches.
Rev Vikas Ransinghe from Solapur of Cantonment's Christ Church, pastoral committee secretary Pradip Takwal, Prakash Nade and other members read out the holy messages. 
John Dheryashil Patole distributed drinking water to all devotees and provided sound and light services to churches, free of cost.
At Saint Philip Church, Rev S S Battise delivered the holy message, while Rev Dicken Vijay Naik and secretary Prashant Nirmal assisted him. Nagpur's Rev Paramjyoti gave the message, while proceedings of the programme were handled by Rev Shanti Mitra. At Saint Stephen Church, Cidco, Rev Mable Athvale delivered the message. 
Other places where special prayers were organised to mark the crucifixion of Jesus include New Christ Church, Bhavsinghpura, Good Shepherd Church, Chikalthana Prajakta Memorial Nazrene Church, Satara Parisar, Church of Christ Ministries, Jalgaon Road, Masnatpur Airport A G Church, E C I Church, Mukundwadi, Two Light Church, N-6, Baptist Church, N-1, Church of Christ Paithannagar, City Nazrene Church, Jubilee Park, Hindustan Convent Church, Kaziwada, World Mission, N- 8, Holy Sion Church, Shatabdi Nagar, Waluj, Ramrai, Vineyard Church, Waluj area, Navjivan Dhara, Bhavsinghpura, Newlife Fellowship Church, Seven Hills, New Life Church, Hublikar Hall, Khadkeshwar, New Life Church Railway Station, Aradhana Fellowship Church, Cidco, Atmik Fellowship Church, Cidco N-8, Emmanuel Church and Bhausinghpura Church.
