Slew of events planned to mark World Water Day - Source LT

CREDAI, Aurangabad is organising various programmes at Jagatguru Sant Tukaram Natyagruh (Cidco) on Friday to mark the World Water Day. 
To encourage participation of school and college students, the organisers have also planned poster, painting and slogan competitions on March 24.
The co-organisers of the programmes are Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Global Development Forum (Waluj), Indian Council for Water and Culture, Aurangabad Photographers Association, Press Photographers Association, Aurangabad Mudrak Sangha, Aurangabad Advertising & Marketing Agencies Association, Plumbing Contractor Welfare Association and Aurangabad Industrial Contractors Association.
Participants will be briefed on rainwater harvesting scheme and a demonstration on successful working models will also be held. Renowned water expert Dr Madhav Chitale will inaugurate Jal Pradarshan, while executive president of Maharashtra Rajya Adarsh Gao Yojana Popat Pawar and district collector Vikram Kumar will be the chief guests.
A seminar on World Water Day will be inaugurated by municipal commissioner Harshadeep Kamble in the evening. MP Chandrakant Khaire will preside over it, while mayor Kala Ozha and deputy mayor Sanjay Joshi will be the guests of honour. 
MLAs and MLCs, including Pradeep Jaiswal, Kalyan Kale, Sanjay Shirsaat, Kishan Tanwani and Satish Chavan, will also grace the function.
Organising committee president Pramod Khairnar, secretary Balkrishna Bhakre, co-convenor Nitin Bagadiya, convenor Sushil Bharuka and co-convenor Sangram Patare are taking efforts. 
Former civic chief P N Bhapkar will be honoured on the occasion for implementing the long-overdue development plan of the city.
