The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Aurangabad centre will host a presentation by Sri Lankan architect Palinda Kannangara on JNEC Campus on March 12 from 6.15 pm onwards.
The celebrated architect believes that architecture is all about having an individual philosophy and being disciplined while being open to new ideas. He describes his work as transforming ordinary spaces into beautifully recreated spaces. He feels that architecture is never-ending story of learning. He loves experimenting with light, materials and shapes to translate client aspirations into reality.
Palinda has won awards including Geoffery Bawa award for excellence in Architecture, Sri Lankan Institute of Architects Excellent Design award 2009 for Rathnayake House at Makola and 19th Architect of the year award under the category of Focus countries.
Local centre chairman Alkesh Gangwal, vice-chairman Ajay Thakur, joint honorary secretaries Neeraj Badjate, Sanjay Pathe have urged architects, students and faculty to remain present.
