As many as 16,000 information brochures along with application kit for Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test (MT-CET 2013) were sold in the Aurangabad division in the last two days.
Talking to this newspaper, joint director of technical education and divisional authority Mahesh Shivankar said the sale of applications began on March 18. He said they are expecting sale of 30,000 applications in Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad districts.
Students are also given a 'user name' and 'password' along with the application kits. They will have to fill online applications on the basis of the user name and password. Later, they will have to submit a printout to their respective colleges or notified centres. There are eight divisional authorities across the State one for each division, while 35 notified colleges, one in each district. The Government College of Engineering is the notified college for Aurangabad district.
The last date for the sale of applications and submission of printouts of duly filled applications is April 7. Students will get admission in the four-year degree courses like engineering/technology and pharmacy across the state on the basis of the test.
The MT-CET-2013 will be conducted on May 16. The sale of applications and submission of the printouts of the duly filled online applications with late fee will be held from April 10 to 11 at notified colleges only. Students can also make corrections, if any, in their applications at notified colleges from April 10 to 11.
The fee for MT-CET 2013, including information brochure along with application kit, is Rs 700 for general category candidates and Rs 500 for backward class candidates belonging to Maharashtra only. This amount is non-refundable.
