A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the faculty of science, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) and the faculty of engineering of the University of Tokushima, Japan, on Friday. Under this MoU following activities of mutual interest are going to be promoted: Conducting joint research projects, exchange of academic information, research staff members and students.
The student exchange programme allows exchange of up to three students per year on a reciprocal basis by the institutions for a maximum period of 12 months in each case. Apart from this, information and intellectual property that arise from the joint activities shall be freely available for research purposes to both of the two universities. This MoU is going to provide an excellent opportunity to the students and faculty members of the university to do research in emerging areas of science and technology such as sensors, photovoltaic devices etc.
Prof M. D. Shirsat, HoD physics, Bamu and Prof Rie-chi Murakami and Prof Pankaj Koinkar from University of Tokushima, Japan have played the key role in this MoU.
The memorandum was signed by the Dean, faculty of engineering, Tokushima University, Japan and registrar, Bamu in the presence of vice chancellor Dr V M Pandharipande, prof Rie-chi Murakami, prof Pankaj Koinkar from University of Tokushima, Japan, director BCUD Prof M S Shingare and Prof Shirsat.
