Mahashivratri celebrated with great gusto - Source LT

The occasion of 'Mahashivratri' was celebrated amid enthusiasm and religious gaiety in the Aurangabad on Sunday. Slogans of 'Har Har Mahadev' could be heard at various Shiv Temples in the city along with chants of 'Om Namah Shivai'. Devotees thronged Ghrushneshwar temple at Ellora, Khadkeshwar and Pardeshwar temples in the city.
Devotees went to Khadkeshwar temple from early in the morning. Abhishek and Aarties were conducted in the temple throughout the day. Om Ganesh Mandal distributed milk to the devotees, while Zilla Maheshwari Yuva Sanghatana organised a blood donation camp.
A Rudrabhishek was conducted by Sadhuram Goyal at Pardeshwar Temple at Palshi at 5.30 am. Thousands of devotees paid obeisance to Lord Shiva throughout the day. Anand Giri Maharaj delivered a discourse on the occasion. Corporator Virbhadra Gadge conducted the Puja at Karneshwar Mahadev Temple at Avishkar Colony in Cidco. 
Similarly, obeisance was offered at Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple and Taleshwar Shiv temple at Begumpura, and other Shiv temples at Gulmohar Colony, Bajrang Chowk, N-6, Sambhaji Colony, Sahyadri Colony, N-1 and other parts of the city. Several religious programmes, including Abhishek, Shivpujan, Bhajan, Jap, Aarti, Mahaprasada and others activities were organised at the temples.
