For the first time, HSC students will have to write their examination on Sunday also.
It may be noted that the examinations of HSC started on February 21 and will end on March 26. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) never conducted any HSC paper on Sundays in the past.
Sources said students had demanded a change in the schedule of chemistry and biology papers as they were left with little time for study following a revised syllabus. "The Board, therefore, has fixed the papers of biology and economics on March 17, a Sunday," the sources said, adding that they had no other option as either HSC or SSC papers were clashing.
The Board has already asked all the higher secondary schools and junior colleges to display the changes in the examination schedule.
Around 1.13 lakh HSC students (freshers and repeaters) from Aurangabad, Beed, Jalna, Parbhani and Hingoli districts, which come under the division, will be taking their examinations at 319 centres from February 21.
The MSBSHSE effected the changes in the examination schedule with a view to providing more time to students between their papers.
As per the changes, now the biology paper will be held on March 17, instead of March 4, and chemistry paper on March 26, instead of February 27.
