Govt Engg. students hold workshop on water rocket - Source LT

Students of the mechanical and electronic department of the Government College of Engineering (GCE) organised a workshop on 'water rocket' here on Wednesday, which saw participation by more than 500 students.
Students have used waste materials and easily available scrap items to prepare the water rocket. Principal Dr P S Advani, HoD mechanical Dr R K Shrivastav and professor S D Ambekar were present on the occasion. The speciality of the water rocket is that it throws water at a height of more than 150 metres. It is made from two litre bottle, one tennis ball, sunfilm paper, doctor tape, rubber cork, non-return wall, rocket launcher and air-pump.
The college witnessed a huge rush of engineering students between 11 am and 3 pm. The workshop will continue as the college festival — Prometheus-2013 — is commencing on March 15.
Meanwhile, HoD mechanical Dr R K Shrivastav has appealed to engineering students to participate in the festival in large numbers. Prometheus-2013 begins tomorrow
