The State Government is going to conduct the common entrance test (CET) for engineering and pharmacy courses on May 16.
Following the decision to participate in the Central Government's Joint Entrance Test (JEE) for engineering and pharmacy courses from next academic year i.e. 2014-15, this CET is going to be the last.
It may be noted that the Central Government is also going to hold a single test i.e. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for medical courses from the current year.
Application-cum-information kits will be made available from March 18. Around 30,000 students from the division will appear for this CET. Last year, only 27,000 students had appeared.
Students can obtain their application-cum-information kits from their colleges on payment of Rs 700 ( for open category) and Rs 500 (backward category).
The joint director has been appointed the divisional competent authority for the CET, while the Government Engineering College is the notified college for Aurangabad district.
