Dr Narendra Jadhav, a leading educationist, eminent economist and best-selling author visited Nath Valley School yesterday, where he had an interactive session with the students and some senior staff members. He was accompanied by N K Kagliwal.

Dr Jadhav is currently serving as a Member of the Planning Commission. He has also been appointed as a Member, National Advisory Council (NAC) chaired by Sonia Gandhi.
The interactive session Dr Jadhav explained the current economic scenario in very simple terms. He said that as of now India is at a juncture in its economy that the next 15 years sees India as a potential economic superpower. While economic growth was slow in the early years of the 5 year plans, with globalization, privatization and liberalization there was a quantum leap in the growth rate in 2005-08 of 9 per cent . In the year 2020 the average age of India will be 29 years whereas the other developed nations of the world will be much older, he said.
In the Q&A session, the students showed deep understanding of the economic conditions in India. Some of the questions were "how much time does the Planning Commission devote to the needs of a common man?", "Around 4 lakh engineers graduate in India every year, but for post-graduation, almost all of them go abroad, "what role does the planning commission play in keeping our engineers in India?" He explained the most difficult concepts in the simplest possible manner. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Principal Ranjit Dass.
