Intensifying its crackdown on illegal advertising hoardings and posters, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has entrusted its nine building inspectors with the task of getting rid of the menace.
In the meantime, the civic authorities have removed as many as 1,500 small and big advertising hoardings, digital posters and banners from different places.
Fourteen cases have also been filed against citizens for displaying hoardings illegally and defacing the beauty of the city. Of them, the Osmanpura police have registered nine cases, Cidco (three) and City Chowk (two).
Under the supervision of civic chief H S Kamble, city engineer M D Sonawane and estate officer S P Khana are taking hard efforts. As reported earlier, the AMC had registered 10 cases against erring citizens with different police stations on March 12.
