The district administration has decided to install CCTV cameras in all the tehsil offices and also in sub-divisional offices in the backdrop of increasing attacks on officials.
The CCTVs will be installed in all the offices by March 31, an official said. It may be noted here that Phulambri tehsildar Revnath Labde was abused by some miscreants and ink was also thrown on him.
After this incident, demonstrations were staged by the State Government Revenue Employees Association and they demanded for protection to the officials.
Taking note of it and to curb such incident, district administration sent a proposal for installing CCTVs in all tehsil and sub-divisional offices to the divisional commissionerate, which was okayed by the commissioner recently. According to the proposal, CCTVs will be installed in 9 tehsils and 3 sub-divisional offices in the district soon. Each office will have 8 CCTV cameras. The district collector office won ISO certificate two years back. According to ISO standards, CCTVs installation in all the offices in district is mandatory. Considering the gravity of recent incident, the administration swung into action and has decided to install the CCTVs by March 31.
